Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the North East.

They are now looking to recruit a Director of Apprenticeships and Employer Engagement to join the senior management team to lead the College's apprenticeship programmes and employer engagement strategy across all sites. This is a flexible role which can be based from either the Newton Rigg site in Penrith or their main York site.

As a senior manager you would lead on employer engagement across the organisation and developing the offer to meet budgetary expectations for sustained growth. You will act as the senior manager for apprenticeships, full cost and community learning provision across the College.

Managing the overall delivery of the apprenticeship frameworks to ensure timely completion of all learners, you will be responsible for the quality of the apprenticeship provision in terms of success, retention and progression and for the development and extension of the apprenticeship programmes across a national catchment in land-based subject areas.

You must also monitor and report financial data to the College Executive for curriculum areas and funding streams associated with this post and monitor the reports of external quality assessors concerning the sector; taking the lead on communication with Awarding Bodies as appropriate to the sector and liaising with the Marketing Manager to provide the necessary information so that timely publicity materials can be developed.

Qualified to Level 4 or above (degree level is desirable), you must have previous experience managing apprenticeship programmes and of leading engagement with employers. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you should have a track record of achievement in your professional or personal life and good IT skills, specifically Microsoft Office.

Experience in a land based setting and an understanding of land based education would be beneficial, however, you must be capable of working effectively under pressure and be able to work flexible hours including some evenings and occasional weekends.
