Come and gain new skills to boost your career opportunities or save on building and maintenance costs in your home with our short and affordable part time courses.

Receive a College certificate on completion.  These courses are for the duration of 10 weeks running on a Monday evening from 17.30 through to 20.30 at the Construction Faculty.

Alternatively why not undertake an accredited course through CITB/CSkills.  These courses run over two evenings Monday/Tuesday 17.30 through to 20.30 at the Construction Faculty for 12 weeks.

Bricklaying
Learn how to construct garden walls incorporating panels, Decorative Features, Jointing Techniques and Gate Pilars using different bonds.

Plastering
Learn to fix plasterboards using dry lining method to solid and timber stud walls & ceilings, fixing and positioning angle beads, taping joints, applying plaster finish.

Learn how to prepare existing walls and ceilings for reskimming and float off.

Painting and Decorating
Learn how to prepare surfaces and hang all types of wall papers, ( patterned, woodchip) to walls and ceilings, apply different types of emulsion & colours using a brush and a roller.

Carpentry and Joinery
By the end of the course you will be able to: Construct three basic joints, fit hinges to door/frame
