The role

The Marketing & Business Development Executive will play a central role in achieving regional objectives for the London and South East England regions by providing effective communication with Members and the public as well as supporting their knowledge transfer programmes.

Duties and responsibilities

- Develop and deliver media strategies to ensure London and South East goals are achieved
- Research and monitor industry and Government news for opportunities
- Support regional activities by developing and implementing a sponsorship strategy
- Initiate and support income-generating activity to meet regional income targets
- Development of marketing campaigns and the production of promotional materials for special projects including pre-19 activities, films, awards and their 200th anniversary activities.
- Draft articles, press releases, comments and letters as appropriate
- Develop and lead the regions social media strategies
- Manage the content and development of the regional electronic communications (e-news) to provide effective member communication
- Produce Annual Update publications for London and South East England members
- Manage the content and development of the regional web pages to deliver timely, accurate, valuable and up-to-date information to provide effective member communication.

What are they looking for?

The successful candidate will have experience in marketing communications and media. Applicants should possess strong oral and written communication skills, have good proof reading and editing abilities and display strong attention to detail. Candidates should possess the ability to lead and deliver proactive media campaigns, both in the short and long term. It would be advantageous to have experience of producing marketing-support material, including web-based communications and electronic newsletters. Candidates should have a good working knowledge of MS Office applications and experience of using Desktop Publishing software (e.g. InDesign), Content Management Systems and social media. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, a team player and would also have some knowledge of built environment, construction or civil engineering sectors or experience in supporting committees and volunteers.
