A well-established steel processing company based near St Helens is seeking a junior/trainee Account Manager to join its expanding team. With an interesting and varied customer base to work with, your main focus will be on delivering exception customer service to clients in order to build and maintain long lasting business relationships where your company will be the supplier of choice every time.  The role will be office based initially but after a period of development, you will also spend some time in the field.  Excellent career progression exists within the business, for an Account Manager who is keen to grow their skills and knowledge over the longer term.

As the Account Manager, your key responsibilities are to:

- Take and process customer orders as required, through the company`s bespoke Steelstock system. 
- Source product as required to meet customer niche orders
- Negotiate commercial terms within set guidelines when required
- Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate information and guidance is provided as quickly as possible.
- Respond to incoming calls from customers, problem solving, dealing with queries
- Provide accurate technical advice to customers as required
- Once up to speed, be proactive in making outgoing customer sales calls and on an account management basis
- Identifying commercial opportunities to develop profitable revenue streams, customers and projects

 To be a successful Account Manager you:

- Will be a business graduate (essential) looking for 2nd/3rd job to progress career in sales/business development/marketing, ideally with either an interest or some experience in the technical/manufacturing sector
- Have a high standard of IT literacy with some experience of working with a CRM system

- Be of a confident, outgoing personality with strong communication skills and the ability to build sound relationships with people at all levels

- Both enjoy, and be able to respond to, a challenge and the opportunity to learn and grow your skills and knowledge
- Have a positive, proactive approach with the ability to manage own workload and a willingness to learn
- Have the ability to work under pressure - essential
- Be an entrepreneurial thinker and technically astute

The Account Manager will be working 8.30am to 5pm with some flexibility once up to speed in the job.  In return, you will receive a salary of c£25,000 per annum, plus a bonus and benefits such as increasing holiday entitlement with service.
