The Company: Our client is established as the largest and most innovative care and education provider for children and young people in the UK & Ireland. They incorporate several integrated specialist divisions offering excellent services and care. They currently have an excellent opportunity for a Registered Manager to join their team in Widnes. 

The Role: As a Registered Manager, you will be accountable for delivering high quality care to the children and young people residing within the home. This means that you will be responsible for the delivery of all care services, as well as the strategic planning for developments within the home, and all day to day management matters. 

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Enriching the lives of young people, helping them create a positive future
Ensuring that any matters relating to child protection are managed in line with current legislation, national standards and best safeguarding practice
Providing leadership and coaching in childcare practice within the home to ensure best outcomes for children and young people 
Supervise and support the staff group ensuring that the team are developed appropriately to meet the specific needs of children and young people in the home 
Developing individual staff training programmes
Completing probationary and annual performance appraisals for all staff 
Rota management
Implementing and overseeing all health and safety procedures

The Candidate: The ideal candidate for the Registered Manager role will hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services and have a minimum of 5 years' previous experience within residential childcare. Previous experience leading a team is essential, alongside project management and budget management skills. You must hold a full driving licence. 

Essential Candidate Criteria:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People's Residential Management)
Minimum of 5 years' previous experience within residential childcare
Child protection experience
Experience of supervising staff
Knowledge of the Children Act 1989
Knowledge of the Care Standards Act 2000 Children's Home Regulations
Knowledge of safeguarding children procedures
Leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Budget management skills 
Project management skills 
Driving licence 

Desirable Candidate Criteria:

Diploma in Social Work
Post Qualifying Award 
D32/33 or A1 Assessor Award 
Experience of Social Work management 
Therapeutic work experience 
Advocacy experience 
Knowledge of management systems
Knowledge of children's rights 
Experience delivering training
Computer literacy
