FIREFIGHTER (CONTROL) 12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT

42 hours per week on a 2, 2, 4 shift system (Including night shifts)

Salary £21,125- £28,156 (once competent)

The Thames Valley Fire Control Service (TVFCS), is a collaboration between Royal Berkshire Fire Authority, Oxfordshire County Council and Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Fire Authority. We are inviting applicants for the role of Firefighter (Control) to join the team.

If you are successful you will form part of our team of highly trained staff, using sophisticated Information Communications Technology systems to receive and handle emergency calls from members of the public and external agencies, dispatching resources to resolve incidents, and supporting operational colleagues across the Thames Valley. 

It is essential that you have a confident telephone manner, good keyboard skills (preferably with audio experience), together with the ability to multi-task, think and communicate quickly and clearly.  Ideally, you will also have experience of working in a team environment and be able to demonstrate the ability to respond positively to pressure by working effectively in stressful situations.

 

The closing date for the return of completed application forms is 10:00 hours on 12th January 2018

Initial selection tests for audio and verbal skills will be w/c 22nd January 2018.

Successful candidates will be invited to complete typing tests and interview w/c 5th February 2018
