Part Time Retail Manager- The Portsmouth Academy
S Simmonds & Son Ltd require a Manager to run our school uniform shop based within the Portsmouth Academy School. We sell uniform for the school and also sell uniform for Newbridge and Isambard Brunel primary schools.
This role is a permanent position and offers holiday pay, sick pay, work place pension and a generous staff discount.
The shop is open for two afternoons per week in term time for two hours each session. You will be working by yourself. During term time in addition to your normal hourly rate we also pay Key money which is equivalent to one hour’s additional pay each session that the shop is open.
During the summer holidays we open the shop for longer offering appointments to the new starters for a personal uniform fitting. We will need you to be available for the week commencing the 23 July and then we re-open from the 23 August through to back to school. We open the shop between 10.30and 3.30 and employ a summer member of staff to work alongside you in this busy period.
Our ideal candidate must be able to offer a high level of customer service to the school and parents, and would ideally have retail experience. Knowledge of using a computerised till is also useful and we will provide training on our in house systems for stock ordering. You will also be required to undertake the banking along with monthly paperwork to head office. As you will be working within the school we will require the successful candidate to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
