The company designs, develops and delivers innovative, cloud-based software and ecommerce websites for international hotel groups. They are often described as a 'grown up' startup which means they have great offices in the centre of Richmond upon Thames close to the Green and although they also have great coffee and snacks, Pizza Fridays and allow office dogs they don't quite have a ping pong table.

They focus on producing truly unique, powerful and simple to use systems and are one of a few UK based tech startups to have been successful selling enterprise grade software to the world's largest hotel groups. They count five of the top 15 hotel groups globally in their client list including the world's largest Marriott International.

They have ambitious plans for expansion & have secured venture capital funding that puts in a secure financial position with the resources to execute. They believe in sharing the financial success of the company and offer stock options to all team members. They also offer BUPA medical and dental healthcare insurance.

The Accountant is a critical role in the company and reports into the CFO. This person will be responsible for insuring that the Accounts of a small entity are kept up to date. There is also a client facing aspect as the person will also deal with the accounts department of one of our biggest clients. Finally, the person will have the option to get involved with Payroll & HR admin.

Key Responsibilities

Transactional Accounting

Take ownership of the transactional accounting for one company of the group, preparing invoices, process suppliers invoices bank reconciliation, maintain general ledger and fixed assets register, produce trial balances and reconciliation of accounts, process payment and prep VAT returns

Organise client billing, prepare weekly reports for dispatch to customers; prepare appropriate accounting entries, receipt of consolidated invoices, various reconciliations and payments.

Human Resources

Deal with all HR Admin matters including preparing letters of offers, employment contracts, employees checks & induction process for new starters, payroll etc. Ensure premises comply with legislation and all the equipment related to H&S are fully operational.

Skills and Attitude Profile:

- Good accounting, IT and excel skills
- Eager to learn and improve over time
- Analytical, detail orientated and flexible frame of mind, yet can see the big picture
- Empathy with people yet able to be firm when appropriate
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written


- Part Qualified accountant. Good technical knowledge & experience with UK Gaap
- Experience of transactional accounting (AR, AP, General ledger, fixed assets, etc.)
- Exposure to HR, payroll, employment law and Health and Safety matters desirable
- Experience working in SMEs and larger organizations, willingness to progress
- Experience working in a dynamic fast changing environment
