About our Client:
We are currently working with one of the country's leading food businesses, who are looking to strengthen their team with the appointment of a Senior Procurement Manager within their growing team. You will have a passion for food, a proven track record in food buying, commercial results and experience in meat category. You will be looking for a career change and have a desire to progress.
About the Role:
You will use your knowledge of suppliers and experience in a food buying role to drive commercial results, savings and efficiencies. You will be the go to buyer for the meat category and will be responsible for driving sales and profit margins as well as helping gain market share by ensuring products are fit for use. Building a great relationship with suppliers through effective commercial management whilst maintaining negotiating power will be key for your success. This role will give you the opportunity to improve efficiency with suppliers. Strategic planning through analysis of client insight will allow this role to deliver a targeted % of newness through your options as a category buyer. Within this exciting buyer role, you will also be able to get creative to implement new promotions and marketing plans to drive commercial activities and NPD.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record as a buyer with commercial activities in the food sector and have experience in meat. You will also need negotiation skills, and have proven yourself as a great communicator that can influence others. You will be a natural leader with the ability to motivate and work well within a team. You will have a history of strong decision making backed by results of seizing commercial opportunities through your skills as a buyer. You must have a positive attitude and outlook.
To be considered for this role you must as a minimum have experience in a food buying role and a meat category.
Circa £50k - £65k DOE
Those selected for interview will potentially move through two or three stages before being made a formal job offer. This process can take time to complete.
