Non-Executive Directors work alongside the Chairman and Executive Directors of the Foundation
Trust Board to advise on the development of strategy and to oversee the performance of the Trust.
They share responsibility with other Board Directors for the success of the Organisation using the available resources to deliver healthcare, bringing independent and objective judgement on issues of strategy, performance and resources.
The post will play a pivotal role in supporting the Board of Directors to assist the Trust in navigating through the development of a system-wide approach to integrated healthcare.
As such, you must be able to contribute to our key challenges both within the Trust and in the wider health economy, building effective partnerships with key external stakeholders and ensuring that the Board effectively develops and oversees strategies that realise the collective ambitions for transforming and sustaining the health and care of our local citizens.
To succeed you will require substantial strategic and board-level leadership experience in a comparably complex organisation, with a track record of achievement in your chosen field.
You will need the ability to network and to influence agendas at a local, and regional level, demonstrating a commitment to continuously improving standards of quality and experience, and recognising the dedication of staff and volunteers.
You will also need high level governance and organisational skills gained in a regulated environment.
The successful candidate will require an understanding of topical issues affecting the NHS and knowledge/experience of the Transformation agenda across the Morecambe Bay footprint would be distinctly advantageous.
Remuneration will be £12,000 per annum for a minimum commitment of 2½ days per month.
This may be during the working day or in the evening.

The selection process will take place in two parts; an informal meeting with key stakeholders, which will take place on the week commencing 5th March 2018 and formal interviews, which will take place the week commencing 19th March 2018.
