This is an exciting opportunity to join an award winning reputable supplier of domestic appliances and replacement parts. Famous OEMs have authorised the company to become national distributors of their original parts. This growing portfolio includes Dyson, Miele, Hotpot, Bosch, Hoover, Sebo, LG, Whirlpool, Karcher, to name a few. This company now offers the most comprehensive choice of original and pattern domestic and commercial appliance replacement parts in Europe, supplying 40 overseas countries.

Key responsibilities
Ownership of purchasing process within the defined category.

Specific responsibilities to include:
- Range planning, product selection and sourcing within one of the defined categories
- Ensuring category performance meets the company's strategic targets with regard to revenue, margin, and stock holding
- Raising purchase orders based on forecasts
- liaising with suppliers to ensure on-time shipment, correct packaging etc
- Regular Supplier Scorecarding exercises to make sure the company's supply chain is working as efficiently as possible
- Creating forecasts to ensure stock availability remains above target, adjusting order points accordingly
- liaising with external providers such as QC agents, freight forwarders etc
- Analysing past performance, consumer behaviour, market trends and other factors to ensure purchasing decisions are commercially sound and justified
- Working with Marketing, Sales, Graphic Design and other departments to maximise sales and profit for the category, ensuring product information is correct and available to all internal and external stakeholders

Skills required:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar purchasing role. Specific category experience is required
- Up to date knowledge of regulatory and legislative issues affecting the category
- Experience of Far East sourcing desirable
- Excel: Basic to Intermediate - (Vlookups, pivot tables, logic statements, conditional formatting)
- Excellent organisation skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability and desire to learn
- Must be flexible and adaptable
- Spoken and written communication skills are paramount, as the role will involve liaising with both internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
