JOB TITLE: Local Growth Project Manager 

SALARY & BENEFITS: Band 11 (£36,937 - £40,619 p.a)

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week - Fixed term contract / secondment for 18 months

THE COMPANY: Our client is a locally-owned partnership between businesses and local authorities and plays a central role in determining local economic priorities and undertaking activities to drive economic growth and the creation of local jobs. They are currently seeking a Local Growth Project Manager to join their team within Portsmouth.

THE ROLE: The role of the Local Growth Project Manager you will be responsbile for project management of a portfolio of ERDF projects. The role will include taking responsibility for performance management and evaluation of the projects and acting as a key professional adviser.

Key Responsibilities for the Local Growth Project Manager role to include:-

Managing the delivery and performance of ERDF projects funded under the ERDF 2014 -2020 programme
Managing the assessment process for applications
Attending and providing advice to the LEP's Delivery Panels
The preparation and submission of monitoring reports and funding claims
Working with a range of other organisations at local, regional and national level, including industry, UKTI, Local Enterprise Partnerships, Business Representative Organisations, academia, and Local Authorities, amongst others
formulation of LEP policies and strategies linked to business support and engagement, skills and European funded programmes

THE CANDIDATE: For the role of Local Growth Project Manager you will have a flexible approach to working and be able to interact and network with partners. You will have strong communicating, influencing and negotiating skills with excellent inter-personal skills. You will need to live within a commutable distance to Portsmouth.

Key experience essential for the role of Local Growth Project Manager :-

4 years relevant experience in an economic growth / regeneration role
Formal vocational or professional qualifications at level 4/5 equivilant or higher
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Developing effective and productive links with Elected Members / politicians / business leaders / education leaders / central government departments and government agencies
Experience of regeneration, infrastructure and/or economic development and/or European programmes and projects, policies, strategies and objectives in support of corporate growth plans.
A good knowledge of Local Enterprise Partnerships and the local growth agenda
Experience of of managing economic development and capital projects.
Experience in the delivery of European programmes.
Experience of working constructively with partners at a range of levels (local, regional and national) on complex change issues.
