LOCATION: York, North Yorkshire 
JOB TITLE: Full Time Administrative Assistant

WORKING HOURS: Full Time – Monday to Friday 8:45am to 5:00pm

THE COMPANY: Our client is a well established, leading Chartered Accountancy firm with offices in Goole, Pontefract, York & Selby. With expert advisors across all aspects of accountancy they are specialists in dealing with a range of businesses and individual commissions.

Due to the continued success of the company, our client is now looking to recruit a well organised Full Time Administrative Assistant to join the expanding team at their office in York, North Yorkshire.

THE ROLE: An excellent new opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Assistant to join our client’s Accountancy firm in York. The key purpose of this position is to assist and support the office and teams with a range of general office and administrative duties on a daily basis. This would suit an individual with great common sense and someone who can take a flexible approach to their work and tasks. 

Key Responsibilities for the Administrative Assistant's role in York, North Yorkshire include:

- General office duties, including, photocopying, filing and other basic administrative tasks
- Binding accounts and preparing various standard letters as required
- Reception cover – answering incoming calls, greeting clients and handling any general enquiries
- Assist with basic accountancy tasks and update records 
- General IT related duties using Microsoft Word and other software

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Administrative Assistant's role must be educated to at least a GCSE (or equivalent qualification) in English & Maths. You will be an excellent communicator and enthusiastic person with a smart appearance and polite telephone manner and it is essential you can work well with a range of colleagues and clients. You must have good keyboard skills and be IT literate with experience using Microsoft Excel & Word and it is essential candidates are well organised, mature and have a good level of common sense. Due to the tasks related to this role such as taking mail to the Post Office and occasional travel to carry out banking duties it is essential candidates have a valid UK Driving Licence and use of their own vehicle. 

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Administrative Assistant's role :-

- Educated to at least GCSE C standard (or equivalent qualification) in English & Maths
- Good keyboard and IT skills essential 
- Experience using Microsoft Word & Excel
- Smart appearance, good communication and skills and professional telephone manner essential
- Must have valid UK Driving Licence, use of own vehicle and live within commutable distance to York, North Yorkshire.
