JOB TITLE: Process Operator 

LOCATION: Wollaston, Northamptonshire near Wellingborough

SALARY & BENEFITS: £17,062.50 - £18,976.50 (dependent on experience) plus £5,097 in allowances and benefits

WORKING HOURS: 3 shift rotating pattern working 5/7 days Sun to Fri (10pm – 6am, 6am – 2pm and 2pm – 10pm) 

THE COMPANY: Our client was established in 1921 and today they are a Euro 227 million global chemical company, employing over 650 people worldwide.  With manufacturing sites located around the world including their new ventures in Canada, South America and India, they manufacture, sell and distribute a wide range of synthetic resins and polymers to many different markets and have built a reputation for innovation, quality and excellent customer service. Due to their continued success, we are now seeking a Process Operator for their site in Wollaston, Northamptonshire near Wellingborough. 

THE ROLE: This role will include manufacturing finished products to meet Production schedules in accordance with specified formulations / process instructions and carry out specified in-process and final product testing in line with agreed quality assurance standards whilst maintaining high standards of responsible care, quality and cost effectiveness. The following list is not exhaustive and other duties and responsibilities of a similar nature may be required:

Key Responsibilities for the Process Operator role in Wollaston, Northamptonshire near Wellingborough: 

To maintain a high standard of Responsible Care and housekeeping consistent with all applicable Company and legislative requirements (e.g. COSHH, HSE, IPPC)

To follow the procedures specified in Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manuals for charging materials, processing of batches, adjusting, completing, labelling and packing (kegs, drums, 1 tonne tanks, tankers) of finished products as required for all plants in the department.

To carry out all specified in-process & final product testing in line with agreed quality assurance standards.

To ensure that all data whether hand-written or computerised, is promptly and accurately recorded, and followed up in a timely manner where necessary. 

To become competent and skilled in the use and operation of plant equipment and processes and to look for ways of continuously improving plant / equipment / systems / processes for manufactured products.

To be an effective team member, work with other shifts and departments to meet production schedules and assist the team leader in training of any new staff or trainees.

To step up and carry out the duties of team leader in their absence and be capable of supervising the plant outside normal working hours (e.g. night shifts or weekends).

To perform any other tasks reasonably requested to meet team and business objectives.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Process Operator role must meet the below criteria; 

Essential criteria for the Process Operator role in Wollaston, Northamptonshire near Wellingborough 

Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of Health and Safety and COSHH legislation, with respect to handling materials and products.
English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent.
Experience in reporting of EHS incidents and participating in root cause investigations and identification of countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
Able to work on a 3 shift basis

Counter Balance forklift truck licence in date and valid
