We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our professional team as a Senior Support Worker (Communicator Guide) in Boston, Lincolnshire.

In this rewarding role, you be working 8 hours per week within a community setting. We are looking for people to join our team individuals with great communication skills to help make a difference to the lives of the people we support.

About the role 
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our expanding Community Services for a Communicator Guide in Boston, Lincolnshire. You will support a lady with multi-sensory impairments within her own home and local community.

You must be able to work flexible hours to suit the service requirements and have the ability to work on your own initiative. Initially we are looking for a Tuesday and a Thursday for 4 hours each day.

Senior Support Worker (Communicator Guide) offer support to people who have developed sight and hearing impairments, often as they get older; you will support the individual to do the things they want to do - not to do things for them. You’ll be there to act as the eyes and ears of the individual – to make sure that communication is clear and that they are able to move around safely. You will enable people with sensory loss to continue to live as independently as possible and decrease isolation.

About you 
We would like to hear from you if you have experience of working with vulnerable people, and ideally have experience of working with people with a sensory impairment. The ideal candidate will have good, clear speech and great communication skills.

A willingness to develop your skills in all communication methods is an essential part of this role. You will need to be able to creatively solve problems that may arise using a person-centred approach and ideally have experience of using person-centred planning tools.

You must be enthusiastic, adaptable and friendly with a commitment to ensuring the individual you work with get the best out of their lives.

The ideal candidate will hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent.

A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role.
