Our client a leading garden centre supplier, is looking for a Product Manager to join their team. They are keen to drive their business further forward, deliver growth for their customers and cement their position as market leader.
To ensure the smooth briefing, planning and delivery of all product based activity for the category, including existing product improvements, inventory management, de-lists and new products and packaging, in line with category plans.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Working with the Head Of Category, identify, develop and bring to market through a defined process a constant stream of profitable new products in line with the defined category plan ensuring all internal systems and processes are carried out accurately and effectively.
Working with the Head Of Category (and in collaboration with other category Product Managers) to plan all seasonal promotional activity.
Work with the Marketing team to materials to deliver the marketing materials (e.g. Catalogues, POS) to support the implementation of all seasonal activity.
Complete all required product due diligence to ensure all products are compliant with UK/EU laws and/or legal requirements in conjunction with Product Standards.
Manage all product patents and trademark issues.
Ensure all product and packaging meets required standards for the brand and legal requirements.
Identify non-performing products, make recommendations for de-lists and manage the delisting process in line with margins and targets.
Work in conjunction with marketing to deliver product labelling and packaging change requirements.
Working with the Product Managers from other categories, build seasonal plan proposals for the category and create and deliver products.
Work with the Purchasing team and the team in the Far East to manage all supplier relationships to ensure that products are sourced efficiently and effectively to delivery Cost of Goods targets.
Continuously review all related product costs and payment terms to ensure that these are in line with annual budgets and margins set out by the company.
Define and deliver the relevant product range and pack formats by channel.
Identifying new manufacturing sources whilst operating within a targeted quantity of suppliers.
Plan and execute the sourcing of all required products to fulfil private label ranges for customers.
Overseas global sourcing including maximising emerging markets.
Minimum 3 years experience in a marketing/ product management role.
A University degree or equivalent.
