Are you looking to be part of a journey and work on some of the most sophisticated machinery on offer in the marketplace, then this role is right up your street. The client base for this business is worldwide with 13 sites incorporating production and distribution across 3 different continent and in the Uk they have over 550 employees and growing. We are currently looking for an electrically biased maintenance engineer due to retirement to help support their team. The Role The role is very hands on, were looking for an electrically biased engineer, who will assist the team of 6 engineers and engineering manager on site. You'll cover maintenance on the production machinery on site that has some lines which operate 24/7. A lot of the production machinery is quite autonomous, and runs on a range of different PLC programmes from Omron, to Allen Bradley, Siemens S7 and Mitsubishi depending on when it was installed. You'll oversee basic fault finding through these PLC's and then be fixing electrical issues, such as inverters, drives, sensors, motors, panels, e-stops and fuses. You'll not just however be completing maintenance based work, there is also a good chunk of project based work always going on which your input will be required on. You'll also from time to time get to muck in on the mechanical side, do you'll get some exposure to pneumatics, hydraulics, rollers, bearings, shafts, motors, changeovers. You'll get great training and learn from some of the more senior engineers in the team who have worked on this equipment a number of years, however were really looking for your electrical understanding on this role. If you were time served and have worked in manufacturing we want to hear from you. You'll be able to suggest improvements projects and also help develop their proactive PPM schedule, as well as complete reactive maintenance. Naturally like in the majority of high speed manufacturing facilities they are very hot on health and safety and proactive thinking, which they encourage everyone to do and abide by. They are already decent on TPM and 5S as a business but looking to improve more on the Six Sigma side of things. The role reports into a Six Sigma Black Belt and there may be an opportunity to progress your own qualifications in this area in the future, they will invest in you as a company. The Candidate First of all you will preferably be a maintenance engineer/technician from a fast moving manufacturing environment with strong electrical skills. The industry is not that important, as long as it's fast moving and requires you to be hands on maintenance based environment as part of a team or even you covering maintenance and projects individually. The kind of backgrounds that would be ideal would include, FMCG, packaging, print, food or equivalent. You will also harbour a desire to work for a stable company with a family feel and receive quality training and add value. You'll come with electrical skills and ideally the certificates or be time served to prove this. You'll be competent with the basic mechanical skills and will want to try and expand on your knowledge in this area, but the role is more electrically focussed for sure, probably 80:20 in bias. You'll be clued up on analysing technical issues with production lines and equipment and come up with new ideas, and seek to change processes and procedures within this environment. An employee who works for this business already mentioned the following "The company is in a really good place, we have a lot of heavy investment coming and real long term opportunities for this individual if they perform well to move up the business into more specialist roles or even managerial positions long term".
