LOCATION: St Helens

JOB TITLE: Young Carer Activities Coordinator

SALARY & BENEFITS: £21,962 per annum

WORKING HOURS: Monday – Wednesday 12pm – 8m & Thursday 9am-5.30pm & Friday 9am - 4pm

THE COMPANY: We are currently working with an independent registered charity which is governed by carers and works to improve the quality of life for informal carers in the borough of St Helens. The centre aims to be a one stop shop for carers, in which they can obtain emotional support, information and advice and access services to support them or give them a break from their caring role. 

THE ROLE: As a Young Carer Activities Coordinator you will be organising, managing, planning and delivering a range of activities and sessions to provide young carers, between the ages of 6-18 years, with regular break opportunities from their caring roles and the opportunity to develop their lives, aspirations and abilities. 

Key Responsibilities for the Young Carer Activities Coordinator role to include:- 

Responsible for planning & organising annual timetable covering a range of events, training opportunities, residential trips and activities
Responsibility identifying any possible safe guarding
Update database with any -Non attendance, attendance or any other observations
Responsibility of all medical and emergency details of the young carers
Responsibility of facilitating young carers focus group
To organise, lead and facilitate training workshops through partner agencies for Young Carers

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will need to be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, be able to build relationships with partner organisation and work on your own initiative. You will be able to work sensitively and confidentially with a wide range of people. You will have the ability to lead and motivate groups, tailoring activities to suit the age range of the children participating. 

Key experience essential for the role of the Young Carer Activities Coordinator:- 

Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children
Minimum of 2 years' experience facilitating groups
Willing to complete a DBS check at job offer stage
Offer 2 x references (1 x professional, 1 x personal)
Have an understanding of child safe guarding
Live within a commutable distance to St Helens
