This role seeks to:
(i) Engage and align the environmental and developmental sectors to secure sustainable development that benefits both people and the environment in line with the overarching framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and
(ii) Analyse the environmental and sustainability implications of the U.K.'s post Brexit trading arrangements, and advocate for more sustainable trade agreements.

In the course of your work with the International Development Sector, you will inter alia work with the development aid organisations and help to develop a wider strategy with finance and aid institutions which recognises the role of environmental sustainability in helping to address sustainable development. On Trade, you will work with the existing RSPB Brexit team, initially helping to deliver an overview of how and in what areas RSPB should engage on UK trade policy, with the focus likely to be on environmental regulation and wider sectoral issues, notably agriculture and perhaps fisheries.

The successful applicant will need strong analytical capabilities but also excellent communication skills.
