Position: Dementia Support Worker Location: Plymouth Contract type: Permanent Hours: 31.00 per week Salary: £17,701.00 per annum Closing date: 5PM on Thursday 1st March 2018 Interview date: Week commencing 19th March 2018 About the role: They have a vacancy for a Dementia Support Worker to provide a highly responsive, individualised information and signposting service to people with dementia and their families. Thye are looking for a well-motivated person with excellent communication and people skills to provide support to people with dementia and their carers, helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being and putting them in more control of their lives. About you: You will possess a relevant NVQ Level 3 or have equivalent skills and experience. You will need excellent organisational and IT skills and the ability to work well within a busy service environment. Ideally you will possess an in depth understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers. You will be speaking to people at all levels in your local area so great networking and influencing skills are essential. You must also have the ability to manage several tasks at once and keep yourself motivated to perform to meet deadlines. This role is primarily within the West Devon area, but will be available to support the needs and demands of the whole Devon and Torbay Dementia Adviser Service. The ability and willingness to travel independently is essential as the working area will include Tavistock, Okehampton and surrounding towns and villages.
