JOB TITLE: Branch Manager / Warehouse Manager 

SALARY & BENEFITS: £22,500 plus benefits 

WORKING HOURS: Full Time 42.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday – No weekend working 

THE COMPANY: Our client was established in 1989 and has been manufacturing and supplying quality lime products for the care and conservation of historic buildings for over 25 years and are now looking for a reliable, trustworthy and experienced Manager who can deliver high levels of customer service & to oversee the day to day running and operations of our client's Newcastle branch. 

Our client stock the widest range of building limes of any supplier in the UK with 6 Natural Hydraulic Limes, Natural Cement, Lime putty and Quicklime. With the addition of their Multi Use Lime Binders for modern construction they have building limes to suit almost every requirement. They offer a range of dry bagged lime mortars from their “Mix & Go range” that can be offered in 400 standard colours via colourpacks, or pre-blended to order. Additionally, they have a complimentary range of damp and kiln dried sands, pigments, aggregates and over 300 tools and accessories to assist the applicator in achieving a high standard of work.

THE ROLE: As a Branch Manager / Warehouse Manager your responsibilities will be to manage all day to day branch activity associated with the effective operation of the site. This includes maximising product availability, sales opportunities & ensuring all customers receive excellent service & support. The job holder is accountable for site health & safety matters, day to day HR activity, all stock & order requirements, staff productivity, branch standards & site security.

This is a senior role where you will be a key part of our client's business model and future growth. You will be reporting directly to the company Directors and be a key holder, responsible for running the day to day operations of the Newcastle branch. You will be directly accountable for raising awareness of the branch locally and for growing the sales at the branch.

Key Duties for the Branch Manager / Warehouse Manager's role :-

• Responsible for customer service standards across the branch, staff training & productivity
• Be directly accountable for sales – growing sales at branch level & working to achieve & exceed sales targets set by the Directors
• Responsible for all aspects of stock & ordering at branch level, controlling wastage and managing site standards
• You will open and close the branch, provide relief cover for holidays & absence at our other branches when required
• Responsible for all aspects of security at the branch including key control & all plant and equipment that the company has on site
• Manage the performance of staff at the branch and being fully engaged in day to day HR requirements as necessary
• Ensure tools & accessories well replenished and merchandised to maximise sales opportunities at all times

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Branch Manager / Warehouse Manager's position must be a dynamic person with excellent interpersonal skills who can effectively manage a team of staff and liaise and build good working relations with a wide range of people from customers to branch colleagues & company directors. It is essential you have experience and can demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a team of staff, deliver high levels of customer service and must be commercially aware and have the ability to be proactive in generating sales. An ambitious Assistant Managers or Senior Supervisors that meet this criteria are also welcome to apply. 

Although not essential candidates with previous experience in a similar industry such as a Builders Merchant's would be highly desirable and candidates will either hold a forklift licence or be committed to completing training and obtaining one. 

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Branch Manager / Warehouse Manager's role in Newcastle, Tyne & Wear :-

• Must have the experience/ability to effectively manage a small team of staff and oversee day to day running of the branch
• Experience in pro actively growing sales and delivering high levels of customer service are essential
• Must ave great interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of people 
• Must be a dynamic, tenacious person who can take accountability and charge of things and is not afraid to initiate new ideas
• Must have good IT skills and be proficient in using Microsoft Office packages 
• Must live in and be able to commute to Newcastle, Tyne & Wear
