We are looking for a new compliance officer to join our team at our Head office in Newcastle Upon Tyne. You will be working 40 hours a week Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.

Key tasks of the role:
  • Managing the complaints process
  • Advising business on how to maintain compliance
  • Approving marketing materials
  • Communicating company policies to other members of the organisation
  • Completing due diligence
  • Investigation and responding to complaints from the regulators 
  • Complete due diligence of third party organisations ready for management sign off
  • Complete on-going due diligence of 3rd party organisations, flagging any issues to management with suggested resolutions
  • Act as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the organisation are being appropriately evaluated investigated and resolved
  • Collaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues for investigation and resolution work with the HR department and others as appropriate to develop an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as on going training for all employees and managers
  • Monitor the performance of the Compliance Program, taking appropriate steps to improve it's effectiveness
  • Work with the external regulators to ensure we remain complaint with their rules.

Required competencies:
  • A breadth of experience in customer focused roles
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage a heavy workload
  • The ability to prioritise and organise your own time and tasks
  • Relationship building skills
  • Being able to stay calm under stressful circumstances
  • Being self motivated and pro active
  • General knowledge of standard Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Outlook and Word
