Beaumont Hall, a state-of-the-art Residential Care Home in Leicester, is operated by Ideal Carehomes (LE4). We are looking for a motivated Deputy Manager to join their team. The hours of work are 38.50 hrs per week, 8am - 8pm on a rolling rota, 3 shifts on 3 Shifts off. Your Role Our Deputy Managers play a key role in the day to day running of our homes as leaders of the care home family. They are responsible for supervising the caring team ensuring our residents are well cared-for, enabling them to live full and enriched lives. Deputy Managers lead by example from personal care through to life-enhancing activities and excursions, ensuring that the residents’ rights to privacy, dignity, independence and choice are met, making our homes a great place to live and work. Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for individuals who are passionate about the care they provide to join our team. Previous leadership experience as a Deputy Manager or Senior Carer in a residential setting is essential along with a NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care. We offer full induction training and support our staff to progress through their NVQs all the way to the highest levels of care. We require: Strong numeracy and literacy skills Personable and professional communication skills Supervisory and leadership skills Reliability and punctuality Willingness to develop new skills in self and others Role Responsibilities Being a Deputy Manager means you are responsible for the running of the home in the absence of the Home Manager. Your core focus is to supervise and evaluate the care provided to our residents, ensuring care plans are followed and the residents are well-cared for socially, emotionally and physically at all times. Your core responsibilities would include: Acting as a key worker for a named group of residents, ensuring that their care plans are kept up to date in line with their changing needs and wishes. Liaising with other care professionals to ensure the care needs of our residents are met at all times. Administering, recording and ordering medication in line with the care home policy. Ensuring our residents feel well cared for by developing caring relationships, understanding their likes and dislikes and getting to know them as individuals. Leading and taking part in events and activities within the home, creating positive memories and experiences for our residents. Reporting and recording any changes in a resident’s behaviour, condition or needs and escalating to medical professionals where appropriate to ensure we offer the best care possible for each resident. Supervising, training, coaching and developing of new and existing care staff to guarantee we are providing the highest level of care to our residents in line with compliance guidelines. Leading a dynamic team to ensure that each aspect of a resident’s care needs is met, enabling their personal choice to be reflected throughout their care journey. Being an active and encouraging senior member of the team, responsible for running team meetings, ensuring good communication and leading the induction and training of newly appointed care assistants. Participating in the sales and marketing of the home in order to maintain an adequate capacity of residents in the home with the correct ratio of skilled, trained staff. Ensuring that all staff are understanding and patient towards residents and their needs, and encourage, assist and support residents to participate in leisure activities as appropriate to the individual, ensuring their social and emotional needs are met.
