We're planning to invest in the businesses we have now, and explore new opportunities to make a difference. Our 'Leading the Way' programme aims to transform how our food stores operate. We want to help store colleagues with the things they need to do, in the time they have and give them the freedom to be great Co-op shopkeepers. Right now we're looking for a lead finance analyst to join our retail finance team, for 9 months, in a role which goes hand in hand with this. If you can bring us the appetite to drive forward change we can offer you the chance to work on something which is brand new for us and will support the retail business transformation immensely. As a lead finance analyst with us, working specifically on our new cost to serve model, you'll work in role which will require you to bring together colleagues from across a wide variety of business functions. Your job will be centred around understanding and modelling the cost to serve on a number of our key trading categories, in order to provide sound consultancy on how to improve their financial contribution to the Co-op. What you'll do Work closely with business intelligence to capture and analyse category data in order to provide sound financial recommendations to the business Align yourself to commercial teams to fully understand the related category strategies and our customer needs Model and explore scenarios considering elements such as; cost of labour, logistics, packaging and margins Get involved in working groups for 'Leading the Way' providing data driven, yet understandable, updates and helping to pull together business cases Offer guidance to and answer the questions of senior colleagues across the business on matters relating to your work, in an environment which moves at pace To be successful in this role you'll need to have the appetite and passion to make a positive impact from the offset, with the initiative to inspire change and transformation. You'll be data focussed, yet you'll combine that with the ability to engage colleagues across teams and at all levels. We'd love to talk to you if You've some commercial or category experience You're used to extracting and manipulating data within MicroStrategy, Cognos, Access or similar environments You're used to building data models You're highly proficient on Excel You can expertly drive cross-functional collaboration and build positive relationships with colleagues at all levels providing challenge where needed You can deliver clear, articulate and succinct presentations You ideally have some project management experience, although this isn't essential You're a qualified accountant or qualified by experience Why Co-op?
