We are looking for a passionate and driven Community Fundraising Officer to join our small team and help us grow our Community income to fuel our vital work. The Bone Cancer Research Trust is in its first year of an exciting and ambitious five-year strategy. This vital role is pivotal to our strategic delivery and growth plans and will offer the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to make a difference to those affected by primary bone cancer.  Job title: Community Fundraising Officer Responsible to: Community Fundraising Manager Salary: £20,000 - £25,500 per annum dependent on experience Hours of work: Full time, 37 hours per week. Core hours of work are between 10am and 4pm. Contract type: Permanent Location: Horsforth, Leeds (Nationwide travel may be required)   Key responsibilities: Growth of net income from Community Fundraising Lead on the development of BCRT’s Community Fundraising strategy, rolling out new initiatives and managing our existing products Personally manage and nurture individual relationships, maximising income and securing repeat and long term support Meeting income and expenditure targets across Community Fundraising as agreed with the Community Fundraising Manager Prepare, monitor and control Community Fundraising budgets and produce reporting and financial analysis as required  Explore and develop new and existing Community Fundraising opportunities on a local (Horsforth / Leeds) and national level, including but not limited to: Individuals & volunteers Community groups and social / sports clubs Schools Events Local corporates (up to the value of £5,000 per annum)  Support the development of Tribute / Celebration Funds at the charity Encourage and support the delivery of Community Fundraising events in aid of BCRT Working with the Communications Team, produce and supply relevant fundraising content, resources and materials where required Attend and support Community Fundraising events & meetings that may fall during or outside normal office working hours Ensure accurate data recording, storage and management with the Database & IT Officer Ensure prompt and accurate banking / thanking of all donations / monies received Actively recruit and work with fundraising volunteers to support activity on a local and national level The successful candidate will: Be able to work independently, therefore previous fundraising experience (Community Fundraising) is essential. Have strong interpersonal and communication skills. In particular, you will have the ability to gain an instant rapport with supporters and colleagues and will have experience in building ongoing supporter relationships.  Understand the importance of the supporter journey. Have strong organisational, IT and administrative skills.
