Graduate Mechanical Engineer – Round House Ltd are an engineering and fabrications company with over 55-years' experience helping our clients in industries such as agriculture, sport, offshore, wind energy, gas and oil. We are looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team based in Lowestoft. We are currently going through a time of fundamental change to become more customer focused and be considered best in class. As our Graduate Mechanical Engineer , you will benefit from a three-year graduate programme to take you on a journey from your first day in the workplace, to then become an integral part of the Roundhouse Management team having been shaped by a variety of career-developing experiences including costing, programming, customer project based estimating, production engineering, Lean/6 sigma training, driving cost saving projects and efficiency improvements, coaching shop floor supervision, Production Engineering and Business strategy. Working with the senior management team and reporting directly into the Operations Director our ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work with customers directly, to understand their requirements and specifications, before working with the estimating team to cost jobs. You will also have the opportunity to communicate with other teams within the organisation, to help assess and develop improvement plans to assist with the increase of customer service levels. From here, you will establish a better understanding of the full-business life cycle and build the foundations of your future career. Key responsibilities: Developing and managing internal KPI's for quote turnaround, quotes won/lost and number of quotes processed Negotiate with customers on price and lead times in order to win profitable business for the company Liaise with Operations Director to agree performance targets Work with production team to manage CAP vs Load and ensuring OTDIF for customer orders To operate and encourage working compliant with the company's Health & Safety policy Dealing with any tenders required Skills and attributes required: Qualification to HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Potential to lead a team and drive performance Fully proficient with Microsoft Office packages Ability to read and understand technical drawings Desire to deliver a world class service to our customers Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Ability to turn strategic goals into business objectives Ambition to develop into a management role This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and friendly company.
