Senior Electrical Design Engineer - CHP Plants, Diesel and Gas Generation - Merseyside - Up to £60k (negotiable DOE) - Company Car - 25 Days ( Bank) Holiday The Client My client leads the field in decentralised power generation, combined heat and power, green energy and waste treatment solutions. As a 'total solution' provider of gas engine generation and gas management, they have an unrivalled quality of product and service performance. With their specialised product range the business has since developed to encompass many varied gas generation and co-generation applications ranging from landfill gas containerised module installations for waste-to-energy schemes, to turnkey 10MW power station projects for major UK utility companies. The Role Working within a busy Engineering Department, the Senior Electrical Engineer would be responsible for helping to lead, support and develop a medium sized team of Electrical Design Engineers, signing off their designs, providing assistance with tricky designs and liaising with clients and other departments internally. The Electrical Engineering department is involved from the sale stage of a project in the development of the conceptual design and tender preparation. Post order the department is responsible for developing this design to meet both functional and contractual specifications. Responsibilities Producing CHP, Gas and Diesel fired generation designs to meet the functional and contractual specifications of client orders Producing specifications, selecting components and conducting necessary calculations for analysis Assist with the tendering and sales stages of projects by producing conceptual designs Liaise with the Mechanical Engineering Department to ensure the best holistic design and avoid potential conflicts Coordinate with CAD team Provide technical support for the installation and commissioning stages of the product. Liaise as necessary with existing and potential customers and their representatives. Participate, and where appropriate lead, HAZOP and risk assessment studies. Ensure that there is full adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management policies and procedures in all work undertaken. Advise and support the less experienced engineers. Assist the Engineering Manager and administrator with planning and scheduling of projects within the section. Required Experience Necessary Experience of working the same or an associated industry (ie. Oil and Gas, Building Services, Marine etc.) with knowledge of power generation Qualified Electrical Engineer (HNC Minimum, Degree preferred) Knowledge of LV and MV power trains and associated C&I Nice to Have Experience of CHP Knowledge of a CAD package Experience Mentoring Less Experienced Engineers Cordant Group is an equal opportunities employer
