Culina Group a well established leader in the logistics market is recruiting for a Operations Manager on a permanent basis at our Port Salford depot. The role holder will be responsible for but not limited to the following: - Manage the safe operation of the warehouse and yard functions. - Develop and manage short and long term labour and equipment plans. - Plan staffing levels by function; rotating staff accordingly in line with daily volumes. - Monitor and manage team performance against KPIs. - Communication to the warehouse teams. - Ensure effective communications across the business. - Ensure customer service levels are met or exceed, embrace ongoing process development and change to identify best practice and opportunities. - Review KPIs, ensuring service and cost parameters are met. - Team engagement; be the first line of contact responding to employee’s questions and addressing their concerns. - Ensure best practice is developed and used, constantly seeking improvements to layout, efficiency and stock integrity. - Relationship management of small accounts to the site. - Develop staff by training, mentoring and personal development plans. - Deputise for the General Manager in their absence. - Liaise with transport function to resolve operational day to day issues and plan to prevent re-occurrence. - Work with finance department to identify areas of spend, reviews and budget compliance/ setting. - Provide leadership and management of resources to ensure both service levels and financial targets are met and customer satisfaction achieved. - Undertake planning and project plans which move the business towards achieving medium and long term goals. Competence Requirements: - Previous experience of working in a multi-user environment where customer service and employee engagement is key to business success. - Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff as well as the ability to maintain relationships with suppliers and customers. - Able to engage team; train, motivate, coach and develop. - Excellent decision making abilities and ability to integrate and apply information. - Able to adapt in a rapidly changing environment. - Able to communicate to motivate, develop and engage employees. - Passion, enthusiasm, reliability and drive for results in present day capacity. - Experience of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably CHESS and RF scanning. - Able to challenge the ‘status quo’ of the operation and implement plans to improve. - Commercially focused with experience in the FMCG field. - Leadership and motivational qualities, with a formal qualification in management desired. - Able to lead from the front and command respect from peers.
