Overview of Role:

The primary role will be to co-ordinate GIS delivery of our major projects. Interfacing with staff from other disciplines to understand their GIS requirements and deliver these through working with other members of the GIS team. This is a senior grade role and as such you will provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff working on the project as well as colleagues in our Mumbai office.

You will assist in the delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, time-frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectations, promoting and marketing all facets of Arcadis' services during interfaces with clients and other sectors and disciplines, contributing towards the achievement of the divisional business plan and to build networks within the industry.

You will also manage a small team of technicians ensuring that the output from the team is to a high standard and all deadlines are met accordingly. You will be responsible for the day to day line management of the team.

Your Day-to-Day:

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking GIS figure production for environmental reports.
  • Management and coordination of work for the GEC team in Mumbai.
  • Provide a link between the GEC and the UK teams.
  • Liaising with internal and external clients.
  • Undertaking GIS mapping, analysis, data capture, data management and geoprocessing.
  • Data creation, acquisition and management.
  • Extraction and formatting of AutoCAD data into workable GIS formats.
  • Quality Control and Quality Assurance of work coming out of the GEC.
  • Working with colleagues in the Arcadis GIS team to deliver GIS deliverables to tight deadlines.
  • Reporting on junior members of the team.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis
  • Undertaking presentations in GIS
  • Managing GIS budgets
  • Analysing and developing databases
  • Analysing data in Excel
  • Working with the GIS team to deliver GIS deliverables to tight deadlines
  • Undertaking quality control of GIS work undertaken by other GIS staff
  • Contributing to the technical development of the GIS team through sharing ideas and innovations
  • Occasional travel to other offices for business development and project meetings
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis

What You have to Offer:

  • ESRI ArcGIS 10.3 or above.
  • Knowledge and experience of undertaking high quality digital cartography for map and figure production.
  • Experience of digitising and editing GIS data including geometry and topology checks.
  • Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Some previous GIS project management experience
  • Some experience of preparing content for bids and proposals
  • Experience of preparing content for bids and proposals
  • Experience of promoting GIS internally and externally via presentations and networking
  • Strong team leadership with experience in management positions.
  • Customer focussed approach to quality and service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify innovative solutions to problems.
  • Understanding of the core principles of GIS, GI data management and GI data quality.
  • Well-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Desire to work within a consultancy environment applying GIS to environment and infrastructure projects.
  • Exposure to ESRI ArcGIS Online and applications such as ArcCollector and Survey123.
  • Knowledge of UK GIS datasets and the acquisition and management of the datasets.
