Finance Assistant job in Darlington, 12 month fixed term contract job. Your new company Working for an ever growing global Logistics business at the Darlington site. Your new role For the role of Finance Assistant you will be responsible for ensuring that you support the Commercial Manager in all financial aspects of the contract ensuring all day to day tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner. What you'll need to succeed Key Responsibilities in this role will include; Collation and completion of weekly quicks data and control of purchasing process Liaise with operations within the DC and other sites to confirm costs are correct Collaborate with other managers and other sites to ensure best practice Raise purchase orders and maintain associated log Ensure Procurement processes are followed and supplier compliance is adhered to Complete Credit Card Returns for Audit and processing expenses Assist with month end preparation and site recs Assist in collating information for budgets and forecasts Cash & Banking of monies held from pool tables/phones/vouchers etc. and maintaining an accurate log Accounting and monitoring on a daily basis the spend throughout the Region Assist with hotel, car hire and pool car bookings Ensure high standard of housekeeping is maintained in all areas Any other admin/finance duties as required Have a highly flexible approach to duties undertaken Maintaining a safe area to work within and ensuring all H&S policies are followed Submit weekly quicks within deadline Work as a team member ensuring capability to cover during absence within the team Establish strong working relationships with other colleagues and the customer Help and support all colleagues on Purchasing Policies and rules Key skills and experience in this role will include: Previous finance experience Ability to follow/guide policy and procedures Strong MS Excel skills Ability to balance conflicting priorities Ability to organise workload effectively Good communication skills Attention to detail with accuracy Ability to work to tight deadlines Educated to high school (higher education) standard Desirable Oracle Experience (Desirable) Studying for a financial qualification (Desirable) What you'll get in return What will you get in return?As a part of a growing population you will receive access to a variety of excellent benefits which could include; 25 days holiday, pension scheme, medical cover, childcare vouchers, retail discounts, flexible working, training, development and secondment opportunities and many more.
