MIS & Finance Applications Team Leader £50,000 Liverpool The Team leader will have both a significant technical and people management role, the jobholder will: Be responsible for and lead a team that will carry out the analysis, documentation, testing, implementation, support (and in some cases, development) of systems/applications under their remit. Contribute significantly to technical support and development of systems under their remit Ensure that work-plans for the team are appropriate, that progress is managed against these plans and remediate / escalate issues to line management as necessary (Technology Business Partner). Act as a project leader on certain specified projects. Key Responsibilities/duties - Key accountability is to ensure that the systems / applications within the remit of the role continue to provide the functionality and operate at agreed service levels for their intended business users. Regularly review performance of systems, within remit, to determine issues that may require remediation or change & make appropriate recommendations for such change. Identify any event that could necessitate system change, by regularly consultation with (project) business analysts, technical & user support functions. Participate pro-actively in any designated technology projects within the remit of the role / as instructed by line management. Act as project leader on appropriate nominated projects - appraising, supervising, planning and managing to achieve project objectives / timelines & cost. Establish and maintain project plans, producing weekly summary of project status for management review. Provide 2nd line technical support for any appropriate reported issues, proactively use ITSM tools and processes (e.g. Service Now). Formally record all operational and technical risks/issues for review and analysis. Inform line management of any aspects, which could generate operational risk or degrade IT service. Document and communicate project and system requirements, issues and actions, including the chairing of meetings and production of minutes. Understand needs of business users and help align IT services to meet these in the most appropriate and cost effective way. Test solutions in conjunction with other IT teams and business users to ensure that they meet with agreed deliverables and are stable enough to be used 'live'. Ensure Systems are covered by an agreed Business Continuity Plan and conform to Group security policy. Ensure all change to systems is undertaken in accordance with the prevailing Change Management procedures, obtaining the necessary authorisations before implementing change. NB - the focus of technical experience will be weighted towards Finance applications (rather than MIS solutions) Key skills required - Degree in relevant technical subject, such as Computer Science, ITIL V3 (Foundation) Strong project management and organisational skills IT Service Management, Vendor management, Problem Solving, System design and engineering IT process design and development Team leadership in a complex medium sized regulated environment (not necessarily financial services) Finance operational and reporting systems and processes, (ideally to include: Sun; SAP BPC & Vision) Effective stakeholder relationships - working effectively in a complex business user environment.
