Maintenance Electrician Location: Basingstoke Salary: competitive About the Maintenance Electrician role: To provide an effective electrical maintenance service to the company by planning, organising, completing of electrical and general maintenance issues as they arise. The post holder will be required to promote a positive image of the Company and work with discretion and diplomacy at all times. Some information handled within this post will be strictly confidential and must be treated as such. Patient confidentiality must be respected at all times. The post holder will need to be flexible in their approach, undertaking, as necessary, any other duties appropriate to the position. You will also be required to travel to locations other than your normal place of work. Due to the nature of your role, it may be necessary to work to time constraints and tight deadlines. This may occasionally require staying late or working outside normal working hours of attendance. Responsibilities of the Maintenance Electrician: Respond to reactive and planned maintenance work as instructed. Liase with sub-contractors to ensure work is carried out to specification as required using safe systems of work. Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and components of industrial machinery and equipment. Connect power supplies to machines and equipment. Diagnose equipment failure following manuals and drawings. Replace faulty electrical components such as relays, switches and motors. Be prepared to work outside. Support Facilities department as required within capability and training. Respond outside of standard hours as required Requirements of the Maintenance Electrician: Essential: Completion of a full Electrical apprenticeship and attainment of an appropriate qualification. City and Guild and or BTEC, ONC or HNC. 17th edition wiring regulations qualified Experience in a similar electrical role in a manufacturing environment. Working with both single and three phase systems. Electrical fault finding. Checking and testing of electrical motors of all types. Capable of reading electrical drawings. Good knowledge of health and safety. Desirable: Fork truck license. Understanding of PLC systems Inverter drives of all types. Basic mechanical skills and understanding Basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems Practical knowledge of building maintenance. Knowledge of Planned Maintenance systems such as Shire, Piranha.
