Home from Home Care in Lincoln provides specialist residential care and support to vulnerable adults with learning disabilities and complex support needs. Created by parents, we combine the family perspective with experienced social care professionals to deliver excellent care. Our person-centred approach means that our bespoke needs-led support packages are created and delivered from the viewpoint of what is best for the individual. We are looking to recruit a Learning & Development Manager to join us on a full time, permanent basis. This exciting position will involve assessing, planning, budgeting and delivering the learning and professional development requirements based on the needs of the organisation, individual employees and relevant legislation. Operationally, you will oversee the training and assessment of new care/support workers. However, this position also has a strong strategic element that will see you working collaboratively with other department Managers as part of our 'One Team’ approach. Additionally, this role will see you assess the skills and knowledge within HFHC on an ongoing basis, determining what training is needed to grow and retain these skills long term to empower individuals to fulfil their potential. Key Responsibilities Include: Set, review and maintain Learning & Development strategy to ensure forward thinking and planning Manage, maintain and communicate the organisations L & D strategy and ensure it is achieved Design, maintain and deliver training required or coordinate within budget for third party outsourcing where required Day to day management of a team of internal trainers / assessors / IQA’s Assess the return on investment of any training or development programme Ensure mandatory training is recorded and completed in a timely manner Remain abreast of new learning technologies and methods reporting back to line manager as appropriate for proposals regarding evolution of training strategy Coordinate, plan and book internal and external learning/development courses Schedule and communicate bookings of learning/development courses Recruitment and training of internal instructors Manage online training Accountable for the input of information on the NMDS (National Minimum Data Set) skills for care database to ensure funding is available Manage awarding body relationships and oversee compliance and delivery of qualifications internally. Experience & Knowledge Required: Teaching Qualification. Teaching and Quality Assurance (TAQA) Assessor or Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification. Working knowledge of learning disabilities. Min 5 years’ experience in a management role. Experienced in designing training materials, programmes and courses. Ability to communicate to a range of people using different methods. Strong knowledge of different learning styles and needs. Home from Home Care are rated CQC Outstanding and IIP (Investors In People) Gold.
