Policy and Compliance Officer
Salary £26,470 per annum (with the potential to earn up to £31,401)

If you know anything about Northamptonshire right now, you may think that joining a council which could be abolished in a couple of years is not such a good idea - we imagine that caught your attention if nothing else has so far!

We are looking for a policy and compliance officer who sees this as an opportunity to be part of the team who builds local government in Northamptonshire, and is perhaps even one of the people who puts themselves forward to be part of Northants in the future.

This role is at the heart of our council and is there to make sure that we do what we’re supposed to now and in the future when it comes to government policy.

Key duties involve ensuring the council’s compliance with the transparency and equalities agendas as well as making sure we have robust risk management and business continuity arrangements in place.

This role works with people at all levels across the organisation to ensure the delivery of corporate strategies, providing advice and guidance to management on areas such as GDPR and service planning – yes it really is that much of a diverse role.

With the ability to work independently and be self-motivated, excellent project or programme management skills are essential in this role, as are the ability to analyse complex information and identify effective solutions.

Your outstanding written and oral communication skills will enable you to produce information in an appropriate manner and work effectively with colleagues at all levels.

Most people here will tell you that working at Wellingborough is a good experience; we have an up-front approach which focuses on getting the job done whilst making sure that we follow all the rules we have to.

We are as responsive to your individual needs as we can be, making space for home working and flexible hours if colleagues need to fit around other commitments.

In return we offer a range of work life balance benefits (including flexible working arrangements), pension scheme, professional development opportunities, town centre location and free car parking.
