LOCATION: Fareham, Hampshire
JOB TITLE: Skilled/Semi Skilled Mechanical Engineer 
SALARY & BENEFITS: Negotiable salary dependent on individual's skills and Excellent Benefits 
WORKING HOURS: Full Time – Monday to Friday-40 hour week

THE COMPANY: Our client, based in Fareham, Near Portsmouth, Hampshire, is the UK’s leading manufacturer of under pressure Drilling, Tapping and Flow Stop Machines for use in the Gas & Water Industries.

THE ROLE: Due to company growth a new great opportunity has arisen for a Skilled/Semi Skilled Mechanical Engineer, ideally with experience of overhaul, repair and maintenance of mechanical machines to join their team of Skilled Workshop Engineers
Key Duties for the Skilled Mechanical Engineers role include:-

• Liaise with production Control with builds, deliveries etc.
• Build and test in house manufactured products
• Ensure build & delivery deadlines are met 

THE CANDIDATE: The successful applicant should have a sound mechanical engineering background or have worked in an engineering environment previously and hold a relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification such as a BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ level 3 or must be Time Served Engineer or be Qualified by Experience. It is essential you have experience in a similar environment in mechanical assembly/engineering. Although not essential, candidates with of overhaul, repair and maintenance of mechanical machines experience would be at an advantage,. Candidates will need to have excellent communication skills, be IT proficient, hold excellent organisational/problem solving skills and must have a valid UK Driving Licence. This role is based in Fareham near Portsmouth. 

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Skilled /Semi Skilled Mechanical Engineers role :-

• Must either hold a relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification such as a BTEC, City & Guilds, and NVQ level 3 or be Apprenticeship/Time Served Engineer or Qualified by Experience
• Will have experience in a similar environment in mechanical assembly/engineering
• Experience of overhaul, repair and maintenance of mechanical machines would be advantageous
• Must have valid UK Driving Licence
• Fork Lift Counterbalance license would be advantageous but not essential
