Salary:   £31,401 - £44,697 (points 35-49)
Permanent - Full-time, 37 hours per week
Base: East Riding of Yorkshire

We are looking for individuals with tenacity, drive and commercial acumen who can use their expertise to embed commerciality and sustainable whole life resilience into our portfolios and overarching strategies. We seek experienced professionals to join the Property Asset Management Team located in the attractive market town of Beverley (or a location to be agreed).

You will play a significant role working within a multi-disciplinary professional asset management team.  You will assist the team in the performance, management and development of a large and varied property portfolio and determine, prioritise, direct and manage capital and revenue projects, acting as the corporate landlord.

The posts have the advantage of being extremely varied, reflecting the council’s substantial and diverse portfolio of land, property and infrastructure.  The council has a current capital programme circa £372m for the current four year period and an annual revenue premises budget circa £15m.

Duties include:

  • developing asset management plans and property strategy
  • leading and overseeing delivery of projects in the client role
  • project management
  • forward planning, allocating and monitoring the allocation of resources and asset management investments
  • contributing to successful funding applications
  • building performance monitoring, lifecycle costing, overseeing and monitoring performance and cost in use
  • working with peers in other public sector organisations and external bodies.

Experience of taking a senior role in multi-disciplinary projects together with dealing with non-building professional clients is required.  You will be able to make cost effective judgments to optimise existing and future investment needs and maximise return.  A quantity surveying, building surveying, GP, FM or similar property background may be advantageous, although not essential, with an ability to apply to undertake option and investment appraisal.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits, flexible working arrangements, a structured development programme, pension and a varied workload in a great location.

For an informal discussion please contact James Timm, Strategic Asset Manager, tel (01482) 393920.
