Junior Quantity Surveyor Full time OR Quantity Surveyor / Estimator Part Time (3 days a week) Location: Pontefract, Nr. Wakefield Temporary starts ASAP on going temporary / freelance Pay: Junior Pay up to £250 per day QS / Estimator Pay up to £350 per day The Company: Our Client is a national main contractor that turnovers in excess of £4m per year. Many of their projects cover refurbishments and fast track fit outs, covering the UK. They are now looking to recruit either a full time Junior Quantity Surveyor on a full time basis or a an experience Quantity Surveyor on a part time basis to work on contracts based out of their Pontefract. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join an ever expanding highly motivated team. The Projects: You will be working a variety of projects from fit out / refurbishments across the High Street Retail & Retail Sectors including Carphone Warehouse, Co-op, Morrison's etc., values from £50k - £250k. The Roles: Quantity Surveyor / Estimator: Ideal Quantity Surveyor / Estimator would have previously worked on the above stated sectors, you required will be managing all packages from preconstruction, tendering and sub contract package valuations through to onsite subcontractor supply chain, and you will be procuring jobs and pushing projects forward. Quantity Surveyor / Estimators will need to take projects from inception of contract through to on site delivery; going to site as and when required managing all the variations along the project through to completion. Junior Quantity Surveyor: The Junior Quantity Surveyor would be working closely with the Commercial Team & Estimating team, you will have experience of managing financial information, procurement and subcontractors combining both site and office based working. You will also need some construction knowledge to enable you to manage the delivery of the project for the client, including managing specialist trade subcontractors. You will be producing schedules of work, placing orders with all aspects of the supply chain, preparing tender & contract documents, preparing bills of quantities with the client, allocating work to subcontractors, valuing completed work and arranging payments, overseeing labour quantities and forecasting weekly/monthly labour costs. Key Requirements (Depending on role): Managing 2-4 projects at one time dependant on size and complexity The ability to identify opportunities to add value throughout project process. The ability to read, understand and accurately interpret Client specifications/schedules. The ability to accurately work to tight deadlines. Post tender project administration of both the main account and sub-contract accounts from appointment to settlement of final accounts.
