Journals Publishing Assistant
We have exciting opportunities for two Journals Publishing Assistants to join our Publishing team based in central Bristol. An organised and efficient team player, you will join our high performing publishing development team. You will play a vital role in ensuring profitable growth for our journals by providing administrative support, as well as coordinating activities to support our Publishers and Executive Editors. You will support all aspects of publishing development work, including providing administrative support for commissioning activities, liaising with journal Editorial Boards, supporting our Society partner activities, assisting with the research into the launch of new journals, and business planning. You’ll also be expected to coordinate and run reports on journal performance, assist with market data retrieval and provide coordination for annual financial forecasts and budgets as well as preparing Society partner accounts. Happy to work independently as well as within a team, you’ll be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and be adaptable and quick to learn. With a proactive approach to work, you’ll have an eye for detail and work to very high standards of accuracy, as well as having keen analytical skills. About you: You should be able to demonstrate the following: First Degree (BSc or BA) Proven analytical skills Previous experience working with financial information Awareness of the role of academic research journals is desirable Previous experience in customer service will be an advantage Previous experience of an administrative/office environment will be an advantage Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail, with ability to learn new technologies Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Excellent organisational, time and task management skills; methodical in approach Publishing experience in STM is desirable, however full training will be provided.
