Cleaner / Handyperson
We are a 5 star Holiday Park with an excellent reputation for cleanliness and now require someone to work in a cleaner / handyperson role. This job varies between our Open and Closed seasons, though is a full time position. In the Open Season there is a requirement to work every weekend, except when on holiday, and in the Closed season we don't work any weekends and finish at 12 noon on Fridays, though the salary stays the same throughout the year.
During the Open Season from 15th March until 31st October, the successful candidate will, on a daily basis, be responsible for cleaning games rooms, a launderette and our Touring Block facility. We also hire out caravans, lodges and glamping accommodation and these will need to be cleaned as and when required. The job holder will be responsible for delivering laundry to the accommodation and sorting it once used, to then forward on to the company responsible for cleaning it. There will also be a need to maintain stock of pots and pans etc for the accommodation as well as cleaning materials. Basic diy skills such as painting and the ability to carry out minor repairs will be required for period when there is no accommodation to clean. The job holder will also pickup litter around the park as well. This is not an exhaustive list as the jobs often depend on the needs of the customer.
In the Closed season more work is outdoors and where there is less cleaning more diy work is done plus some general maintenance of the park, including raking leaves and power washing.
We offer 35 days paid holiday, though no staff are permitted holidays during July and the first 2 -3 weeks of August, which is our peak period due to the nature of the business. However, we do get a 3 week break at Christmas/ New Year.
