To oversee the management of all aspects of the business in order to maximise the profitability of this area of business. To champion the vision, strategy and principles. To make recommendations to the Group CEO to strategically develop the scope of the division in terms of new launches, new products and acquisitions in all formats and to manage agreed projects through to implementation. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To improve the profitability of the Portfolio. Actively seek out new commercial opportunities, products and services, for development and implementation through to growth and profitability. Produce business plans (1-3 year) covering all areas of existing and new product development. Manage all Contract Publishing opportunities. Manage the editorial team to ensure on-time, within budget, publication and delivery to all platforms. Promote editorial excellence ensuring that all content is high quality, regularly first to market and exclusive and relevant to subscribers needs and domain. Manage the advertising and subscription sales operations with over-arching responsibility for growing revenue to exceed target. Build closer relationships with existing, lapsed and new customers working to understand their future challenges and marketing needs. Ensure the advertising sales teams are utilising Pulse, the contact management system, ensuring customer records are up to date at all times. Recommend and assist with marketing activities including improvements to the circulation audit profiles. Monitor competitors' activities in the market place and maintain a central competitors' database. To contribute to the production of Annual Budgets and Forecasts and to ensure adherence to these thereafter. To represent the company at trade shows and events. To undertake any such tasks as reasonably requested by the Group CEO. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: Sales volumes, turnover and profitability. Share of Market (SOM) Editorial quality of the content (exclusives & original content) within the portfolio Adherence to agreed budgets. Achievement of the Business Plan. Success of new initiatives (new launches, enhancements & developments, acquisitions) The motivation and productivity of the team. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Sharp proven business acumen. A thorough understanding of the publishing process/domain.
