My client, a global food manufacturer based in Hartlepool, has a requirement for an experienced Team Manager to join the Operations Team at Hartlepool. Key Responsibilities Leading High Performing Teams Ensuring all team members are engaged and high performing with a focus on problem solving and team work Build trust through effective leadership and the skilled application of people management processes and open two-way communications Recruiting and selecting the right team members, building teams through skill assessment, training and on-going performance management of your team against departmental plans, objectives and targets Working closely with on-site agency personnel Applying the highest standards of ethical conduct at all time Development of Standards Review relevant site policies and procedures, ensuring the requirements they specify are documented in standard work and trained out to team members Check that standards set within production processes are adhered to at all times Continually challenge ways of working to deliver demonstrable improvements in aspects of, but not exclusive to, H&S, Food Safety, Quality, GMP and Audit Readiness and the attainment of Departmental performance targets Organise and Optimise Labour Manage the availability of labour against the plan and work with colleagues and other site based Production Streams to optimise labour skills and cost across the site Cover essential elements of the department in the event of unplanned absence Manage Process Reliability and Integrity Monitor and improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and reliability of assets - delivering Downtime and Online %age improvements through establishing SOPs and ensuring they are followed Working with Maintenance Colleagues to identify bottlenecks and issues within the process and ensure timely intervention. Using company systems to problem solve, identify root cause analysis of issues and ensure a collaborative approach to the implementation of permanent corrective actions Manage Health and Safety Protect the H&S of all production employees through instituting and adherence to site safety culture Conduct risk assessments on all processes and tasks in the Production Process, implement countermeasures and mitigation plans to address risks identified Monitor and calculate team member performance and adherence to safety SOP's Qualifications and Skills Proficient written, numerical and verbal skills Fluency of English language Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data Experience of managing a team in a process environment Understanding and ability to apply in live situations the principles and tools of lean manufacturing Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes Understanding of the people and processes needed to build high performing teams Effective communicator who facilitates bottom up and top down communication channels Demonstrates key skills in team facilitation, influencing skills, able to meet deadlines etc. Hours Of Work The role will be 40 hours per week Monday to Friday on a rotating two-shift pattern.
