The Pompey History Society seeks suitably qualified individuals to support a Heritage Fund-supported project from September 2019 (or earlier by negotiation) for one year

Oral History Project Coordinator

This is an exciting freelance opportunity for a highly-motivated oral history specialist to support a Heritage Fund project entitled: Pompey: Champions of England - The sporting and social history of Portsmouth FC's title wins

The role is anticipated to take three days a week, but peaks and troughs in the project means a flexible approach is required. The successful candidate will be expected to organise the day to day running of the project, ensure that it runs smoothly, is completed on time, within budget and that it achieves its objectives. The project co-ordinator must be prepared to be flexible in approach and adaptable in working practices to ensure the success of the project.

This role, funded by a Heritage Fund grant for one year, is to manage a heritage project involving oral history, an online digital archive, to oversee the development of a mini exhibition, a booklet, and a school resource pack. The project co-ordinator would have to recruit and manage volunteers who would conduct interviews, go into schools, write the booklet, manage the website and make a mobile exhibition.

Good organisational and social skills are essential and an interest in social history and/or football is desirable.

For more information on either role, including a detailed description, email history@pompeyfc.co.uk. Letters of application and CVs from suitably qualified individuals should be sent to the same email address by Wednesday May 22.
Interviews will be held on June 11, 2019.

Please note these are a freelance roles and a competitive monthly fee will be paid for the right individuals.
