Bin Cleaning Operative

LOCATION: Hemel Hempstead

SALARY & BENEFITS: £18,000 - £20,000

• Working uniform is supplied but not footwear (you must provide your own steel capped shoes or boots)

WORKING HOURS: Normally Monday – Friday (Tuesday - Saturday on Bank Holiday weeks) 8:00am – 5:00pm

THE COMPANY: Freshbins is a wheelie bin cleaning specialist providing service to residential and commercial customers up to a 20 mile radius of Hemel Hempstead. They are now seeking a Bin Cleaning Operative (mobile) to join their small team. 

THE ROLE: As a Bin Cleaning Operative you will be given a daily round sheet which you will need to follow to attend customers’ homes or commercial premises to clean their bins. 

You will have your own bin washing trailer and van to use whilst at work and, in addition to your bin cleaning duties you will be responsible for keeping your van and trailer very clean and in good condition at the end of each day. Typically you will clean approximately 80-100 bins per day. You may also be required to assist with delivering leaflets and tagging bins with our marketing materials.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate must be reliable, conscientious, energetic and able to work on their own initiative. They will need to work well within a team and have excellent attention to detail. A good knowledge of the local area would be useful but not essential. You must consider yourself to be physically fit with a positive attitude. Freshbins are looking for people that are able to work on own initiative as well as being a part of a small team. You must have a cheerful disposition and enjoy working outdoors.

Key elements essential for the role of the Bin Cleaning Operative:- 

• Live within a commutable distance of Hemel Hempstead.
• A full UK Driving Licence (maximum 3 points).
• No drink or drug driving or criminal convictions either in the past or pending.
• Minimum of 4 years driving experience.
• A confident driver who will able to tow and manoeuvre a trailer (training given).
• Your own mobile phone to keep in contact with the office and other cleaning staff.
• Basic reading and writing skills.
• Able to talk confidently to customers if approached.

Following a successful interview, you will be invited to complete a trial, where you will be working for a few hours with our operations manager. This will give you the opportunity to experience first-hand the role you have applied for, you will be able to ask any further questions you might have and, it gives us the opportunity to asses you at work also.

Normally, completion of a successful trial will result in a job offer being made.
