We have an opportunity for an Engineering Systems Technician to join us at our Birstall site, you may also be required to work at our Morley site which is located about 15 minutes away. You will join us on a full time, fixed term basis for 2 years, working 32.5 hours per week. In return you will receive a competitive salary plus excellent benefits. The Engineering Systems Technician duties and key responsibilities: You will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the vast array of equipment and processes that go into producing our world renowned brands. Including supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment through to the optimisation of line performance, and compliance with engineering standards. You will have proven experience and be able to demonstrate a broad range of skills from systems diagnostics, problem solving, have a dynamic and hands-on approach. Be part of an improvement team to develop new processes or technologies. Optimise and generate a program to effectively manage all PLC / HDMI programs across all regional production sites (UK.NL.DK) Knowledge, skills and experience of our ideal Engineering Systems Technician: - Competent in PLC / HMI programing - Experience of inverter, servo, DC drives - Worked with circuits from 415 to 24VDC power & control - In depth knowledge and operation of PLC diagnostics - Instrumentation Calibration experience including flow control and weigh systems - Able to read electrical and mechanical drawings - Ability to logically fault find and repair - Understanding of pneumatics - Produce mechanical drawings - Worked with conveyors - Worked with high speed production machinery - Understand permits to work systems - Advanced electrical fault finding - Understanding of network structured wiring systems Ethernet design and installation - Use of problem solving documents (FMEA) - Experience in Preventative Maintenance, practice and procedures Minimum Qualifications: - ONC or equivalent in an appropriate discipline - Recognised Electrical apprenticeship or approved training scheme - Formal training and certification in PLC & HMI programing - Instrumentation calibration experience (essential for electrical bias PPG is committed to being an inclusive employer and strives to achieve the right work-life balance for our employees.
