Design Engineer Pressure Vessel
We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Design Engineer to join our team in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. This individual will utilize technical knowledge to design, plan, and simulate new products, product parts, and building models. Manages design process for new and existing products. Responsible for generating design calculations, formal product specifications, and determination of components. Oversees all duties associated with customer software, engineering drawings, and bills of materials; such as creation, structure, verification, revision, distribution and archiving. The main responsibilities of the position will require the employee to have experience in the following: · Performing engineering calculations required to accurately determine product size, capacity and performance to meet required design parameters. · Pressure vessel knowledge · Knowledge of international design codes (ASME VIII Div 1&2, PD5500). · Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor & FEA through ANSYS. · Good commercial acumen. As a Design Engineer you will be responsible for: · Providing support for any mechanical queries from sales team and production. · Creating standard design engineering tools and calculators to support upfront engineering. · Performing pressure calculations in accordance with International Design Codes (ASME VIII Div 1 & 2, PD5500) · Ensuring compliance with internal engineering standards and industry and customer specifications · Creating, checking and approval of models and layouts. · Liaising with customers and suppliers worldwide on mechanical design matters, ensuring specification compliance, integrity of interfacing information and sound engineering practice is being applied. · Providing feedback for process improvement within the SPX Flow organization. About You: · Possessing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. · Pressure Vessel knowledge and experience is most desirable. · Familiarity with forging materials · Familiarity with Oil & Gas customer specifications · Flexibility to travel as required.
