We require an Assistant House Manager for one of our residential children's homes located in the Preston area. Under the direction of the Registered House Manager, you will effectively lead the team of support workers and enable the delivery of care and education to all the students and young people. You will effectively guide and manage the team and ensure that the service complies with local procedures and corporate policy, statutory regulations and quality standards. As a member of our residential care team you will provide residential care for boys and girls aged 6 to 19 who have mild, moderate and severe autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex learning needs and challenging behaviour. You will assist them with their daily lives. This could be in the form of helping the young person at School, accompanying them to take part in an activity or simply assisting them in completion of general daily tasks, including morning and night time routines. Our aim is to bring about the best in every young person to enable them to achieve positive experiences and progress according to their own individual abilities. The desired outcome is for young people to achieve success in accredited qualifications and to gain increased levels of independence to enable them to maximise their strengths, abilities and ambitions. What we would like from you: Excellent communication skills Effective organisational capability Great team player Flexibility to respond to the changing needs ot those who we support Strong " can do " attitude NVQ/Diploma L3 Caring for Children and Young People and relevant experience in a children's residential child care setting is essential. If you are passionate, dedicated, devoted and able to see the possibilities of all our exceptional learners we would like to hear from you. References provided must cover the last 3 years, or you are applying to work within our Children’s Homes we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.
