Description : Job Title: Facilities and Health & Safety Co-ordinator Site: Markham Vale2 Core Days: Any 5 from 7, Typically Monday – Friday Core Hours: 08.00am – 16.00pm, however you will be expected to be flexible to suit the needs of the role and contract Do you want to work for a thriving successful Company? Culina Group, a well-established leader in the logistics market, is recruiting for a Facilities and Health & Safety Co-ordinator on a permanent basis at our Markham Vale 2 depot. The Role: As Site facility and H&S co-ordinator you will contribute to the growing success of the Markham Vale site by facilitating the on-site management of contractors, in conjunction with the Regional Facilities Manager You will also have responsibility for maintaining and developing Health & Safety of the site in line with industry best practice. You will work hand in hand with the regional Health and Safety Team to embed a positive safety culture on site. Key Responsibilities: Ensuring all mandatory site safety inspections are completed in line with Legislative and Company requirements to a suitable standard. Facilitating and supporting managers with accident and incident investigations, ensuring reporting within deadlines Co-ordinating site safety champions, fire marshals and first aiders on site and ensuring that suitable provisions are available for these. Facilitating the development and review of a suitable set of risk assessments for the site. Produce reports and co-ordinate safety meetings on site, ensuring suitable trend analysis takes place to enable proactive safety on site. Co-ordinate contractor management on site, including working with the Regional Facilities team to arrange for regular and ad-hoc maintenance to undertaken, as well as ensuring all statutory compliance certification is completed and suitable documentation is available on site as required. Ensuring that all new starters receive suitable onsite safety training including relevant inductions and site tours. Ensure all plant and machinery are safe to use and legally compliant, including ensuring that users are trained and competent to use these. This includes working alongside the site MHE trainers and Group Learning and Development team. This list is not exhaustive and the successful position holder may be required to carry out any task which the Company might reasonably require you to do. Person specification: the role requires a professional person, who has good interpersonal skills and is able to influence behaviour change in others. This will be through the promotion of a positive safety culture on site and across the business as a whole. The person will need to be able to work with others to achieve this, although a degree of autonomy is required. The successful candidate will be someone who has a pragmatic approach to safety, while being a role model for all staff on site. Transferrable Skills: Self-motivated and organised individual with a keen desire to participate as a pro-active member of the team. Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation, good working practices, regulatory inspections/servicing compliant with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. Responsive and able to appropriately deal with emergencies or urgent issues as they arise. Good time management skills with strong problem solving ability. PC literate with a sound working knowledge of MS Office. Have a flexible in approach to work and working hours NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent preferable, with IOSH membership.
