About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit Senior Quality Assurance Engineers to join our team to provide functional advice, guidance and support to the business on all matters related to the delivery of an effective quality assurance programme, ensuring outputs meet customer and regulatory requirements.

You will provide support to the Principal Quality Assurance Engineer in the review of Quality Plans and maximising resource utilisation factors relevant to the business area and provide coaching and support in relation to assurance and improvement activities in support of overall business delivery.

We are looking for someone who understands the value in getting Quality Assurance Embedded as early as possible on a project or contract, and who is comfortable with talking to colleagues from all functions, understanding problems, working out how to resolve those problems, looking for a better way to do something, and supporting the project team when processes are changed. Following a change through to closure and then checking it was effective is key to helping the business improve.

Problem solving skills are essential in a role such as this, and experience of quality tools such as 8D, 5-whys would be beneficial but not mandatory.

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need to hold the minimum of an HNC/HND (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject and possess a recognised quality audit certification, or equivalent demonstrable experience without qualification in supporting Audits to ISO 9001 standard

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Experience of Quality Management auditing in a technical/manufacturing environment
  • Some knowledge of manufacturing processes including welding, machining, NDT, pressure testing and electrical assembly
  • Able to review technical documentation, with a good eye for detail
  • Able to understand engineering drawings, procedures and specifications of all disciplines.
  • Able to communicate effectively and have an aptitude for learning new techniques, methods and principles
  • Capable of prioritising and multi-tasking, and working to agreed schedules and budgets

What else do I need to know?

  • You will require a UK Drivers Licence for this role
  • You will be required to be eligible for and able to maintain necessary UK SC level security clearance
