JOB TITLE: Field Service Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical)

WORKING HOURS: Full Time – Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm – field based so will require occasional travel and flexibility with hours – expenses and hotels covered 

THE COMPANY: Our client are manufacturers of envelope inserting and polywrap enclosing machines, plastic card mailing systems and print finishing equipment. Their high quality, high speed addressing and mailing solutions are designed for use in industries where performance and reliability are critical. Due to continued growth they now seek experienced Field Service Engineers with Mechanical & Electrical experience and/or qualifications.

THE ROLE: As a Field Service Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical), dependent on your level of previous experience and willingness to develop your skills, you will work as part of a team of service engineers, who cover the UK maintaining and repairing equipment. Travel will be required throughout the UK and may involve some overnight stays for which hotels and expenses would be provided. When not field based you will also assist with the assembly or with the testing and maintenance repairs for a range of equipment. This could be carrying out general servicing and checks on equipment, identifying and then repairing any faults and generally ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards. 

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Field Service Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical) position will ideally have a relevant mechanical / electrical engineering qualification but is not essential if candidates have previous suitable hands on related electrical / mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Candidates must have a valid UK Driving Licence and be prepared to travel and work occasional overnight stays for which expenses would be covered. In addition, candidates will need to hold good communication skills both spoken and written, have excellent attention to detail and will be a natural problem solver who takes pride in their work. Although field based you will also need to live within commutable distance to Dunstable (near Luton), Bedfordshire. Although not essential, a document handling background and working on equipment like envelope inserting and polywrap enclosing machines, plastic card mailing systems and print finishing equipment etc. would be desirable.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Field Service Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical) role in Dunstable (near Luton), Bedfordshire :-

Previous experience in an Electro Mechanical Engineering related role or coming from an Electrical Mechanical background is essential
Ideally have formal Mechanical / Electrical Engineering qualifications but not essential if qualified by expedience 
Good communication skills essential 
Will need to be hardworking and someone looking to develop their career
Driving Licence essential and ability to travel essential
