An excellent opportunity for a junior or mid-level copywriter to join a rapidly expanding team of market leading creative and technological experts. Reporting to the content manager, you will also work closely with the wider team including paid search experts and designers, and colleagues in other departments, especially sales and compliance. The ideal candidate will ideally have some financial services B2C writing experience, although candidates without financial services experience will still be considered. Tasks: Landing page copy focused on conversion A focus of the role is being able to write compelling conversion-focused copy to complete the process of converting site visitors into potential customers. The business already achieves excellent conversion rates but there is always room for improvement, so we’re keen to learn from best practice and try out new approaches. UX copy As well as developing the main marketing copy on pages, there is also a need to write and edit copy that guides users through their online experience. This can include copy that encourages users to engage with tools and calculators through to successful completion of all fields. Content marketing As well as conversion-focused copy, the role involves writing in wider content marketing strategies. Blogs, articles, social media posts, news stories, case studies, thought leadership pieces and so on are all part of the work to present users with interesting, value-adding content, while at the same time supporting SEO performance. There is some offline writing too, including brochures and guides to areas of personal finance. Customer service emails and text messages The marketing activity continues after users have started to engage with the business. The suite of content therefore includes emails that extend the key messages and brand into the client’s inbox. Tools used Most of your time will be spent writing in familiar word processing tools, passing copy to the development team once it has been approved. You may also use tools such as Wordpress, Hootsuite and Mailchimp to publish content. In addition, much of the online content is generated in real time from dynamic spreadsheets, so editing large amounts of copy within spreadsheet fields - taking great care to maintain accuracy - is also a feature of the role. (Having limited experience with spreadsheets doesn’t preclude you from the role however as training and time to learn how to use them will be provided.) Other aspects of the role · Working with senior team members to gather data & insights · Monitoring content trends and relevant industry news to ensure our approach and messaging is up-to-date What you'll need: · A minimum of 2 years’ copywriting experience, ideally in financial services but candidates without this will be considered · Ideally some experience of creating copy for landing pages where the focus is on quick conversion performance. · Excellent grasp of the English language and ability to proofread and evaluate content effectively · Creativity – able to come up with out of the box ideas that support campaign objectives · Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and brands · An understanding of commercial needs in addition to the user experience · Ideally experience working with email marketing and content management systems The company Gravitate Digital is a data-driven digital marketing agency, specialising in converting clicks into profit on behalf of some of the UK’s most successful financial services businesses.
